The company has been operating in Prague since 1996, when it was based by Babtie International. It was the part of British multidisciplinary consultancy company Babtie Group since its establishment, whose name was changed to Jacobs U.K. Ltd. as the part of Jacobs Engineering Group in 2004. The company name was changed to Jacobs Consultancy consequently in 2008.

Vodní cesty, a joint-stock company, was founded on January 19, 1996, as a legal successor of Vodní cesty, a limited-liability company, which was founded on January 1, 1994. Over the period of four years, our team has established itself in the market of design in water constructions and technological equipment of hydro-technical works, including the engineering.
The design studio has gradually acquired the latest computer technology, including CAD software and the software for static and dynamic analysis of designed constructions and for hydraulic calculations of water flow and structures. The work of our designers has been applied in Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Lithuania, Poland and Hungary.
